Meditation

  • What is Mediation and its explanation?
Meditation is neither any power, strength or a matter of any mysterious secret. Mediation is a process. It is defined in different ways.

When an activity of our sensory nerve is centred on a specific event or a matter, we say, we are concentrating or meditating.

Meditation is a matter of concentrating our attention and alertness on one point without any effort. It is peaceful. It is a simple process. Everybody can experience it. For meditation, sit gently and in a steady position, easily and peacefully. Keep the body motionless. Make the breathing process tranquil (unruffled, calm) and then allow the mind to be peaceful and centred at one point.

For meditation do not sit in an entangled (tough) position. Keep the head, neck and the trunk in one line so that free breathing can be had in-between the abdomen and the chest. Do not have any tension for keeping the head, neck and the trunk in one line. Close the eyes loosely and slowly. Do not allow any pressure over the eyes. Keeping all the muscles of the face loose, close the mouth slowly. Do not bring any pulling over the jaw. Breathe through nostrils and concentrate over it. In doing so, the fatigue of mind is removed. Mind becomes quiet and pure and the virtues of the properties of nature. develop and concentration too increases.

Relaxation

  • What is the process of Relaxation with full explanation?
After doing asanas or the spiritual practice of breathing, the relaxation can be had while sleeping in shavasana, keeping the body loose. It is very useful to get physical and mental freshness removing the tension of the body and the mind. This action can be had either with the self-indication or with anybody else's outer indication.

In this action, the body is given an indication initially. The serial order of indication starts from the toes of the legs and ends at the head. All the parts of a body are considered as independent parts and they are ordered affectionately to have their full rest. After giving commands (orders) up to the head, keep the body in the same position. When physical relaxation is achieved mental relaxation is also achieved slowly in succession and the mind can act as a witness to see the body remained relaxed. In this whole process, guidance is necessary. After having the relaxation, no load activity should be done.
